Living Well to Work

There is now a Living Well to Work Co-ordinator working from The Eden Project.  She is called Ann Marie and is available to support people with diabetes helping to make improved choices about health and well-being, whether this is via volunteering, education or training.

The aim is 'to help people with diabetes begin to engage with others, build confidence and self esteem.

You can ring (01726818811) for more information if you are interested in joining the group or want to talk to an advisor about the scheme.  Different walking routes are lead by qualified Walk Leaders and offer 3 levels of ability which range from 20 to 60 minutes.  It's free and can offer not only an enjoyable walk but an opportunity for people to meet socially and share similar concerns.

Ann Marie's role is to identify participants who have diabetes, are of working age and economically inactive.  She is able to offer 1-2-1 support and sign post opportunities that may be available to participants whose health concerns have prevented them from becoming part of the work force.
